How do I properly connect to an optional MegaSquirt hardware circuit? It's not doing anything/blowing a fuse/responding erratically/etc.

Be sure to review our MegaSquirt Option Service Connection Diagrams document. This guide contains schematics of how each connection should be made. If, after having verified the wiring, the option circuit still does not function correctly, the cause is most likely a firmware setting.

Blown fuses indicate an improperly connected option circuit. Be sure that all high current GPO's are connected to loads that will draw under 1A. In particular, if used for fan control, be sure the high current GPO is connected to a fan control relay and not the fan itself.
